No. Your SMS are read and processed entirely on your device to detect spends. The messages and their contents are never uploaded, synced, or shared — SMS-derived data is explicitly excluded from all cloud sync.
No. SMS access is optional. You can decline it and add expenses manually, and you can revoke the permission anytime in Android Settings → Apps → ClearCut → Permissions.
Yes. ClearCut is free to use, with no ads and no trackers. We don't run analytics servers or sell data.
No. ClearCut works fully without signing in — open it and start tracking, splitting, planning and budgeting right away, all stored on your device. You only sign in (with Google or your phone number) when you want to share a group with others or sync across your devices. We never sell or share your sign-in details.
Open ClearCut → Account → Delete account for instant, one-tap permanent deletion. You can also email us. See the account deletion page for full details.
ClearCut parses standard bank and card debit/transaction SMS alerts. Promotional messages, OTPs and balance alerts are filtered out and never stored.
